1. Personal data we collect
- Capacity requests: when you use the Request capacity form, we collect your first and last name, company, work email address and the type of capacity you need.
- Press alerts: when you sign up for press alerts in the Newsroom, we collect your email address.
- Correspondence: if you email or call us, we keep what you send us, including your contact details and the content of your message.
- Technical data: when you visit the site, our hosting provider processes your IP address, browser and device information and the pages you request, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Our spam protection on forms (Cloudflare Turnstile) also processes your IP address and browser signals to check that a submission comes from a person.
- Usage statistics: we use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are used. It does not use cookies and does not identify you personally.
2. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To respond to capacity requests and discuss our services with you. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
- To send you press alerts. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by replying to any alert or emailing us.
- To answer your correspondence. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to you.
- To operate, secure and improve the website, including preventing spam and abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website.
- To meet legal obligations, and to establish or defend legal claims. Legal basis: legal obligation and our legitimate interests.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
3. Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and our analytics are cookieless. The only technologies we use are those strictly necessary to run the site securely, such as the spam check on our forms. For this reason the site does not show a cookie banner.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers that process it on our behalf and under our instructions:
- Vercel Inc.: website hosting and cookieless analytics.
- Cloudflare, Inc.: spam protection on our forms (Turnstile) and DNS.
- Resend, Inc.: delivers form submissions to our team by email.
Within SWI Group, your enquiry may be shared with colleagues who need it to answer you. We may also disclose personal data where required by law, regulation or a court or authority, or to protect our rights, property or safety and those of others.
5. International transfers
Some of our service providers are based in, or process data in, the United States. Where personal data leaves the European Economic Area, we rely on an adequacy decision (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified) or on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep it
- Capacity requests and correspondence: for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any business relationship that follows, and no longer than 24 months after our last contact unless we are legally required to keep it longer.
- Press alert sign-ups: until you unsubscribe.
- Technical data: for the short periods our hosting and security providers need to deliver and protect the site.
When we no longer need personal data, we delete or anonymise it.
7. How we protect it
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), strict security headers on the website and access controls on the systems that receive form submissions. No website can guarantee complete security, but we work to keep the risk low.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that has already taken place.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@swi.com or melinda@swi-compute.com. We will reply within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Luxembourg data protection authority, the Commission nationale pour la protection des données (CNPD), at cnpd.public.lu, or with the authority in the EU country where you live or work.
9. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice to reflect changes to our website, our practices or the law. We will post any changes on this page and update the “Latest update” date above.
